 Plein
Air Austin
is a group of artists, in and around
Austin, who paint together on location
throughout the Texas Hill Country.
The group was founded in 2001 to encourage the pursuit
and appreciation of "plein air" painting.
Plein Air Austin is composed of serious
artists dedicated to the tradition  of
painting on location in a direct manner.
The artists maintain their own studios and some
show in galleries and juried shows throughout the nation. While
the connection between these artists is their home locale, many
travel regularly to paint scenes that inspire them.
Mission: Plein
Air Austin ... promoting painting directly from life through paintouts,
exhibitions, and fellowship benefitting artists as well as the community.
